Latest Education News

All nine Punjab boards will announce the 1st year result 2026 on Thursday, 22 October 2026. If you sat the Intermediate Part-I exams that began on 15 June, that is your date. Lahore Board confirmed it in September while announcing the Part-II schedule, and the Part-II result then arrived on exactly the day the boards had set. That is a good sign the Part-I date will hold too.

This page is written for the student who wants a straight answer and a plan for result morning. Below you will find the date, every way to check your 11th class result 2026, each board's SMS code and rechecking link, how the last four years went, the subjects in each group, and what to do if one paper does not go your way.

Quick answer

The 1st year result 2026 (HSSC Part-I) for all Punjab boards will be announced on 22 October 2026. In previous years the result went live at 10:00 AM. You can check your 11th class result by roll number on your board's website, by name, by SMS, or through the result gazette.

Result date

11th Class Result 2026 Date

The date is 22 October 2026. The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) sets one calendar for all nine boards, so Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur and DG Khan will all publish results on the same morning. No board goes early, and no board holds back.

The time has not been confirmed separately for Part-I yet. In 2023 the boards went live at 10:00 AM, and this September's Part-II result was also announced at 10:00 AM. Plan for 10 AM. We will update this line as soon as a board confirms it.

Why some sites still say 12 October

In January, the PBCC released a proposed schedule that listed the Class 11 result for 12 October 2026. That was a draft. The date the boards are now working to is 22 October, which Lahore Board repeated in September. If you see 12 October somewhere else, it is an old copy of the January plan. Nothing will come out that day.

When the 1st year result came in past years

Looking back is the best way to know what to expect. Here is when the Part-I result arrived since 2022, and when the exams were held:

Year Exams held (Lahore Board) Result announced Gap after last paper
2022 6 July to 28 July 17 November 2022 About 3.5 months
2023 5 June to 28 June 10 October 2023 About 3.5 months
2024 7 May to 22 May 1 October 2024 About 4 months
2025 20 May to 13 June 15 October 2025 About 4 months
2026 From 15 June 22 October 2026 About 4 months

Two things stand out. Since 2023 the result has always come in October. And the gap between the last paper and the result has stayed close to four months, because the boards finish the Part-II result first (students need it for university admissions) and only then turn to Part-I. This year the Part-I papers started on 15 June, several weeks after Part-II began on 20 May, so a late-October result fits the pattern exactly.

Most used method

Check 11th Class Result 2026 by Roll Number

This is the fastest and most reliable way. Everything you need is on your roll number slip.

Where to find your roll number on the 1st year roll number slip before checking the result
Your roll number is printed near the top of the slip. Check the exam name says HSSC Part-I 2026.

Find your roll number before result day. While you have the slip in your hand, check two things: the roll number itself, and the exam name, which should say Intermediate Part-I or HSSC Part-I, Annual 2026. Take a photo of it on your phone so you are not searching drawers at 10 AM.

  1. Open your own board's official website (links are in the board section below).
  2. Choose Intermediate Part-I (HSSC-I) First Annual 2026 in the result section.
  3. Type your roll number, digits only, with no spaces.
  4. Tap View Result or Search and wait for the card to load.
  5. Take a screenshot straight away, before you close the page.

One practical tip: every board website slows down in the first hour of result day, because lakhs of students open it at once. If the page freezes, do not keep refreshing every two seconds. Wait a few minutes and try again, or use SMS, which usually keeps working when the website does not.

How to check 1st year result 2026 by roll number: select HSSC Part-I, enter the 6-digit roll number and tap View Result
Three taps: pick the exam, type the roll number, view the result.

No roll number?

Check 1st Year Result by Name

Lost your slip, or checking for a younger brother or a friend who is away from a phone? Most Punjab boards offer a name search next to the roll number search on their result portal. You type the student's name and, on most boards, the father's name as well. Sargodha Board also asks for the date of birth.

Name search works, but it is slower and less exact. Common names return a long list, and a small spelling difference can hide the right person. Enter the name exactly as it was written on the admission form. If you get several matches, pick the right one by the father's name, college, or district. Once you find the roll number this way, save it and use roll number search from then on.

Works without internet

11th Class Result 2026 by SMS

Checking the 11th class result 2026 by SMS: send only your roll number to your board's SMS code and get marks in reply
Type only the roll number and send it to your board's code. Nothing else in the message.

SMS is the method to keep in your back pocket. It needs no internet and no website, which makes it the most dependable option on a busy result morning.

Open your messages, type only your roll number, and send it to your board's code from the table below. The reply comes back with your marks, usually within a minute. Standard SMS charges apply.

Three things cause most failed replies: a space before or after the number, extra words like "result" or "11th" typed with it, and no balance on the phone. Send the digits and nothing else. If you get no reply within a few minutes, wait for the first-hour rush to pass and send it once more. Sending the same message ten times does not make it faster.

Only send your roll number

No board asks for your CNIC, B-form number, or a payment link to show a result. If a message or website asks for those, close it.

For a whole class

1st Year Result Gazette 2026

The result gazette is a PDF that each board publishes after the result. It lists every roll number with marks, institution by institution. Teachers and principals use it to see a whole class at once, and students can use it too.

Where to find it on your board's website

Boards do not all put the gazette in the same place. On result day, look in these parts of your board's site, in this order: the Results page, the Downloads section, then Notifications or News. The file is usually named "HSSC Part-I Annual 2026 Result Gazette" or "Inter Part-I Gazette 2026". Some boards post it a few hours after the result, not at 10 AM, so if you cannot see it in the morning, check again in the afternoon.

How to search it

The file is large, often several hundred pages, so download it on Wi-Fi if you can. On a laptop, press Ctrl + F and type your roll number. On a phone, open the PDF and tap the search icon. Searching by roll number is exact. Searching by name works in some gazettes but can return many results, so confirm the right one by checking the college name printed above the group of roll numbers.

Read the notes on the first page. They explain what the abbreviations next to a roll number mean. If you see short subject names written next to your roll number instead of marks, you scored below 33% in those subjects, and you can appear in them again along with your Part-II exam. The gazette itself says it is issued "as a notice only", so your online result card is the record to rely on.

How to Read Your 11th Class Result Card

How to read the 11th class result card: roll number, subject-wise marks, Part-I total and pass or supply status
Check your details first, then subject marks, then your status.

The result card has more on it than a total, and a few minutes spent understanding it will save you worry later.

Start at the top. Check that your name, father's name and roll number are correct. A mistake here has to be reported to your board, so catch it early.

Next come your subjects, each with its marks. This part matters most for your planning, because it tells you exactly where you are strong and where you slipped.

Since 2024, the 11th class result card also shows a grade and GPA, and a percentile for each subject. The percentile tells you how you did compared with everyone else who took that paper, which is often more useful than raw marks. A 60 in a hard paper can place you higher than a 70 in an easy one.

Finally, look at your status. If any subject shows that you scored below 33%, do not panic. That subject can be cleared with your Part-II exam, which we explain below.

Groups

1st Year Subjects by Group

Every group in Part-I has the same compulsory subjects and its own electives. Knowing yours helps you read your result card, and it tells you which papers carry into Part-II if you need to clear one.

Compulsory for every group: English, Urdu, Islamic Education (Islamiyat), and Tarjama-tul-Quran, which became a compulsory Part-I subject under the Single National Curriculum from the 2022-23 session. Many older lists online still leave it out, so do not be surprised to see it on your card.

Group Elective subjects in Part-I
FSc Pre-Medical Biology, Chemistry, Physics
FSc Pre-Engineering Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics
ICS Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics or Economics or Statistics
ICom Principles of Accounting, Principles of Economics, Principles of Commerce, Business Mathematics
FA (Humanities) Three electives from a list including Education, Civics, History, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Punjabi, Persian and Fine Arts

Science groups also sit practical exams, which count toward the subject total. If you missed a practical, the subject can show as incomplete even when your theory marks are fine, so check that line on your card.

Toppers

Are There 1st Year Position Holders?

This question comes up every year, so here is a straight answer. The Punjab boards' official position-holder ceremonies are held for the Intermediate Part-II result, when Part-I and Part-II marks are combined into the final Intermediate total. In our review of major newspaper coverage from 2023 to 2025, we did not find an official board-wide Part-I position list.

Lists of "11th class toppers" that circulate on social media are usually from individual colleges, academies or unofficial sources. They can be genuine within a college, but they are not board positions. If any Punjab board publishes an official Part-I merit list this year, we will add it here with the board's own notice as the source.

If you are aiming for a position, your Part-I marks still matter a great deal, because they make up half of the combined Intermediate total that the board ranks next year.

Year Appeared Passed Pass rate
2022 211,906 83,554 41.24%
2023 about 168,000 97,100 about 57%
2024 about 162,000 84,785 about 52%
2025 172,100 92,541 53.77%

2022 was the hardest year in this stretch, with only about four in ten passing, and the exams that year were held late, in July. Since then the pass rate has settled in the low to mid fifties. In plain terms, roughly one in every two Part-I students clears every paper on the first attempt. That is not a reason to fear the result. It is a reason not to lose heart if you land in the other half, because you are in large company and there is a clear way back.

DG Khan 61.07% - -
Rawalpindi 43.66% - -

Where a cell shows "-", we could not find a figure we trust, so we left it blank instead of guessing. The Faisalabad 2024 figure is worked out from the board's own numbers (63,806 passed out of 98,834).

Group-wise results (Lahore Board, 2025)

Group Pass rate
Pre-Engineering 73.36%
Pre-Medical 64.30%
General Science (ICS) 57.99%
Commerce (ICom) 50.11%
Humanities (FA) 40.05%

The pattern repeats every year. Pre-Engineering and Pre-Medical students pass at the highest rates and Humanities at the lowest, though Humanities also has the most students and the widest mix of backgrounds.

Girls continue to lead

Girls have outperformed boys in Part-I year after year, across almost every group. The same held in this September's Part-II result, where the Lahore Board pass rate for girls was 71% against 49% for boys. Mathematics was also the single biggest stumbling block in Part-II this year. If you are a Part-I student, keep that in mind: maths trouble in the first year rarely fixes itself in the second.

Result morning

What Happens on Result Day

What happens on 1st year result day: announcement, online check, SMS, gazette and rechecking
Announcement, online check, SMS, gazette, then the rechecking window opens.

Knowing the order of events takes a lot of the stress out of the morning.

The boards announce the result at the set time, and the portals open soon after. Expect the websites to be slow for the first hour. SMS replies usually come through faster during that rush. Later the same day, or within a day or two, the boards publish the result gazette. From the day of the result, the 15-day window for rechecking begins.

A simple plan for the morning: keep your roll number and your board's SMS code ready from the night before, try the website once at 10, and if it is jammed, send the SMS and wait. Screenshot whatever you get. Look at the full result card on the website later in the day, when traffic drops.

If a paper goes wrong

Failed a Subject? Passing Marks, Rechecking and Improvement

Passing marks

You need at least 33% in each subject or paper to pass it. If you score 33% or more, your marks count. If you score below 33% in a subject, that subject is marked against your roll number, and you can appear in it again along with your Part-II (First Annual) exam next year.

This matters: one weak paper in Part-I does not end your year. You carry on into Part-II and clear that paper alongside your second-year exams.

Rechecking

If you believe a paper was marked wrongly, you can apply for rechecking online on your board's website within 15 days of the result. Each board sets its own fee and payment method.

How to apply for 1st year result rechecking: apply online, pay the fee, submit before the deadline and get the updated result
Apply online, pay the fee, submit before the deadline, then wait for the rechecking result.

Rechecking links for all Punjab boards

Right now some of these portals still show the Part-II (12th class) rechecking, because that window is open. Boards switch them to Part-I after 22 October, so open the link again on result day.

Be realistic about what rechecking does. It confirms that every answer was marked and every mark was added correctly. It is not a fresh evaluation of your answers. It is most worth doing when your marks in one paper are far below your usual level, or when you are just a few marks short of 33%.

Keep the deadline in view

The 15-day window starts on result day, not when you first see your marks. Apply in the first week so that bank or website delays do not push you past the deadline.

Improving your marks

Even if you have passed, you can try to improve your marks or grade within the time your board allows. Improvement rules and the number of chances are set by each board, so read your board's notification before applying. If an improvement attempt does not raise your marks, your earlier result stays as it was.

Final word

Conclusion

The 1st year result 2026 is now less than a month away. All nine Punjab boards will publish it on 22 October 2026, most likely at 10 AM. You do not need to do anything special to get it. Keep your roll number and your board's SMS code ready, try the website once, and fall back on SMS if the site is slow. When your result comes, read the whole card, not just the total, and look at your weakest subject first. That is where your Part-II year will be won or lost.

If the result is not what you hoped, remember the numbers above. About half of all Part-I students in Punjab do not clear every paper on the first try, and the system is built for that: you can apply for rechecking within 15 days, and any subject below 33% can be cleared with your Part-II exam. And if you did well, remember that Part-I is half of your final Intermediate total. A weak first year is a warning, not a verdict, and a strong one is a head start, not a finish line.

We will update this page on result day with the live links, the confirmed time and each board's pass percentage as soon as they are released.

You can apply online on your board's website within 15 days of the result announcement. The rechecking links for all nine boards are listed on this page.

13Why do some websites show 12 October as the result date?

That date came from the proposed schedule released in January 2026. The boards are now working to 22 October 2026, which Lahore Board repeated in September.

Sources and how we check: Result dates and pass rates on this page come from the boards' own result gazettes and from reports in Dawn, Dunya News, Daily Pakistan and 24 News. SMS codes and rechecking links come from the boards' official websites. Where two sources disagreed, we used the board's own record. Where we could not find a reliable figure, we left the cell empty. This page is updated when a board issues a new notification, and the date at the top shows the last real change.
